About This Spot

Stepping into Jo Won Noodle House feels like entering a warm neighborhood staple where time slows down just enough to appreciate the care poured into every detail. The atmosphere is quietly inviting — unpretentious, familiar, and alive with the gentle hum of friendly conversation and the subtle clatter from the kitchen where dishes are crafted fresh to order.

This isn’t a spot where food is hurriedly dished out; instead, there’s a rhythm that suggests a deep respect for tradition and skill. The owner’s presence adds a personal touch, creating a sense that you’re not just another guest, but a visitor welcomed through the front door of someone’s cherished kitchen. The dining room is modest yet clean, comfortable without being ornate, encouraging guests to settle in and savor their meal without distraction.

The menu unfolds as a culinary journey steeped in the legacy of Chinese cuisine influenced by Korean flavors — a nuance that becomes clear with each bite. Noodles are handmade, a tactile reminder of craftsmanship, while soups and sizzling plates carry the boldness of woks heated to just the right intensity. The dishes — from savory dumplings to richly spiced seafood soups — reveal layers of flavor that reward a patient palate, each element unfolding gradually rather than shouting for attention.

What truly stands out is the genuine care behind the service. Here, the relationship between kitchen and table feels immediate and thoughtful, with the owner and chef’s pride quietly evident in the way dishes arrive hot and perfectly balanced. Whether it’s the tang of pickled cabbage served alongside or the hearty portions that invite sharing, the experience fosters a sense of community through food.

For those drawn to meals that linger in memory — not just because of taste, but because of the human moments that surround them — Jo Won Noodle House offers a quietly rewarding discovery in the heart of Anaheim.

Very FRIENDLY service.. Owner does all here.. You MUST try out fried dumpling here...and order extra to go as well...I regretted not ordering extra. Excellent taste...good size...and the best. Side dish of cabbage pickle was excellent as well.

Great food with great service. The owner and chef are very proud of their food and they should. Korean style chinesr food is also pretty good. They would not try to cook it easy way and put effot on every dish they serve. Great Restaurant!

Very tasty restaurant. The food is a very specific type of Chinese food. The food is Korean-Chinese, or, more specifically, food developed by Chinese immigrants to Korea. I loved the JjamBbong noodles and the yangjangpi. Both are spicy in different ways but both are delicious. The fried pot stickers are gigantic and most love them. They were a bit too heavy for us.

Jo Won is one of the few remaining authentic Chinese restaurants in the area. They still cook everything to order and even make their own noodles from scratch. The food is fresh, served hot and tastes delicious. They have a clean & comfortable dining room with excellent service. The owner is usually there so you can ask for anything, even if not on the menu, and they will make it if they can. The interior decor is dated so it’s not very inspiring, which is fine by me, it helps to keep their prices reasonable and I usually prefer take-home anyways. Avoid the pre-cooked fast food chains and go to Jo Won’s for a much better experience!

Authentic Chinese food! Finally, a real place in Orange County. I got the Mongolian Beef, pan-fried dumplings, and egg flower soup. So delicious and cooked with woks hot enough to get the true Chinese flavors to shine. I’ll definitely be back here again and again.
